About the teacher – Reverend Doshin Kusan Roshi
Rev. Doshin Kusan has been practicing Zen Buddhism and conducting Buddhist retreats on the Sunshine Coast since 1989 . He established a small Zen Buddhist group at that time which became Way of the Forest Empty Mountain Zen Hermitage.
Kusan has conducted many introductions to Zen Buddhism and many zen retreats.

Rev. Kusan has been practicing meditation and Zen Buddhism for over 47 years. He received transmission as a Roshi in 2015 in the Diamond Sangha tradition which is the largest Zen Buddhist group in Australia. Rev. Kusan has devoted much of his life to the practice of Zen Buddhism.
Rev. Kusan ordained as a Soto Zen priest realizing that he had gathered the much needed skills to act as a priest in Zen Buddhism. Soto Zen is the largest Zen organization In Japan.
